Learning to correctly do storytelling is essential if you want to learn how to get and retain users attention.
If you want to share a message, it’s way better if you know how to share it in a way that people can relate to it. The best way is by sharing it as a story.
It may or may not be a true story. The key relies on knowing how to share the message in a comprehensive and cohesive way, so that everyone can easily follow along the story.
How to correctly do storytelling.
In order to create the perfect story for your audience, there are several key points you need to take into account.
Know your audience: you must know who your posts are targeting and adjust accordingly.
It’s not the same if your audience has an average age of 12 than if it has an average of 40 years old. In the first one, you would need to write it in very simple terms, while on the second one, they’ll probably be more inclined to follow along, if you use professional language, which makes them have the feeling that they are reading something from a professional.
Set the challenge: you need to clearly point out what the goal behind the post is. So that readers have a reason to follow along.
The challenge or goal you are trying to achieve must be included in the hook. And throughout the post, the main theme must be revolving around that idea. At the end, you must provide the solution or whatever happened in the end.
Show the journey: people love having something or someone to follow. If you can show your audience what are the steps they need to follow in order to achieve their goal, you are on the right path.
The journey must be explained throughout the whole post, specially in the main body.
In the conclusion, you must be able to explain the end of the journey, as well as what happened with the initial challenge.
Add a personal touch: anyone can write a story and make it feel convincing. But that’s not enough in order to retain attention.
In today’s day and age, people are far more inclined to read something, if they can relate in some way or another to the author. In this case, the key to make people feel related to your story, is as simple as including your personal opinions, experiences and emotions. Which is what AI and most posts are lacking.
Use visuals: most people aren’t able to remember some words on a screen. Yet, most people will easily remember a picture if you include it in the middle of your explanation.
Another great way to make people feel included in the story is sharing images, in order to include them in the scene more easily. This way the reader no longer has to make things up, you can just show them what you are explaining.
For example, if you are explaining a complex concept, maybe including a chart is a great idea. Or if you are writing a fairy tale, you can include a cool looking drawing.

He is able to include everything I mentioned before in one simple post:
Know your audience: he writes for people that want to grow on social media.
Set the challenge: he includes it on the second line, “You post banger after banger with 0 recognition”. Through this message, he is implying he is going to teach you how to get out of this situation.
Show the journey: throughout the post, he explains what happens to most people, and what happens in the end.
Add a personal touch: for those who don’t know Alex, it may be hard to spot on, but he is talking about what happened to him. He jumped to fame with one viral post, which got him thousands of new followers overnight, and now has a great community behind his back.
Use visuals: he uses spaces, as well as making each phrase longer than the previous one, to make the post good-looking and as easy to follow along as possible.
